The Sonoran Desert is a North American desert which covers large parts of the Southwestern United States in Arizona and California and of Northwestern Mexico in Sonora, Baja California, and Baja California Sur. This area is home to countless varieties of cacti, succulents, and wildlife. The most famous and iconic cactus found here is the Saguaro Cactus which can grow to over 40 feet tall with an average lifespan of 125 years.
